The Spartanburg containers shown are designed and constructed for the soft drink industry.  These containers conform to the requirements of the National Soft Drink Association Voluntary Standard (NSDA-VS-01).   This standard establishes the voluntary minimum requirements for engineering and construction of pressurized containers used to store and/or dispense carbonated beverages and syrups.  It is a manufacturer's guideline and applies to container assemblies with a nominal capacity of 10 U.S. gallons or less, which are subjected to a working pressure of 130 PSI and working temperature of 110º F.

Spartanburg containers conform to the sanitary requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation and bear the seal of that organization.

Spartanburg containers are fabricated from corrosion resistant stainless steel using the Tungsten Inert Gas Welding Process (TIG), with complete penetration of all welds.

O'Rings and gasket seals resist attack from washing chemicals and do not impart odors or taste to container contents.

Each container is supplied with a stainless steel closure assembly which contains an integral pressure relief valve.  This valve releases when the internal pressure is in the 100-130 PSIG range.

General beverage containers are also equipped with an easily operated OVERRIDE lever, which can be used to depressurize the container.   This is especially useful in the washing-filling operation.

Top and bottom skirts are bonded rubber, designed to withstand normal cleaning solutions and temperatures without detachment.   Containers are supplied with a 'satin' finish, obtained by abrasive buffing, which gives a consistent finish and enhances the cosmetic appearance of the container.
